Third Party Pharmacy Policy
My Family Vet strives to provide the upmost care for your pet. Therefore, this is our policy on all third party pharmacies.
If you decide to purchase your pets medications online, we will happily call in a prescription to the pharmacy of choice to insure correct dosage, refills and instructions for a service fee of $15.00. This service fee is valid for six months and is for each medication prescribed. The prescription is only good for six months because most long term medications require periodic testing, blood work or change in dosage to insure efficiency and safety of medication. We will price match all heartworm and flea medications as long as your pet is current on his or her annual exam. This will ensure your pet’s medical records are correct and we can guarantee the product is safe and will work accordingly. We will only match prices that are valid the same day as purchase and will not include any special offers offered in the clinic. In establishing this policy, we hope we have provided a safe and convenient way to care for your pet.
The following are a few statements about Third Party Pharmacies:
1. There is a high possibility that the products purchased and received may be counterfeit and may not have been approved by the FDA. This has been a factor in the past and may reoccur.
2. The medications may be a different milligram, volume and/or concentration of liquid, number of tablets or capsules and the number of authorized refills may be different than that of the prescribing doctor.
3. Rebates and that would normally be available from manufacturers will not be available through internet or catalogs. Example but 6 get 2 free.
4. The warranties or guarantees for the products may not be valid. This would mean if your pet’s condition is not treated effectively due to the products, our staff would not be able to assist in any claims you may have towards the manufacturer of the product.
5. The medications may not arrive in time to provide relief for your pets condition.
